BCG Constructions is a multi award-winning, Melbourne based construction company. They focus on high-end architecturally designed residential homes and apartments.

BCG required an update to their existing website to showcase their award-winning builds to the fullest. Previously, their website was difficult to read with white text on pure black and did not consider its information hierarchy. The image galleries were also difficult to navigate and view as they were displayed in a small grid.

The client required their logo and colours to remain the same and requested that all information from the old website be included. The challenge was to identify the most important aspects of each property and devise a way to segment the information. This resulted in having a single large feature image displayed first for each property with any awards displayed immediately after, alongside the introductory paragraph. Any subsequent feature points and technical details were separated by an image gallery to not overload the user with information. This also allowed for an easy layout transition to mobile devices.

In addition to the website design, new typefaces were chosen to complement the brand, where previously the Muli family was used and came across as too soft. Clean, elegant typefaces were used to represent BCG’s values of integrity and detail, with Paralucent adding a high-end feel while remaining functional.
